User Feedback 2018

The users decide whether a product is successful and both professionals and ambitioned private users expect ergonomics and grip from a modern screwdriver handle.

In February 2018 we commissioned Krämer Marktforschung GmbH to conduct an objective and neutral customer survey about screwdriver handles. In hardware stores all over Germany 315 participants, professionals as well as DiYers, could test and rate 5 different handles from the top segment of German manufacturers.

Der Test:

Test 1:

5 screwdrivers were placed in a opaque box where the participants could not see them (and identify the brands) but only access the tools with their hands. The evaluation criteria at this step were ergonomics and haptic perception of the handles. The testers were asked to sort the handles inside the box from most agreeable to least agreeable.

The result of test 1 was not disclosed before test 2.

Test 2:

Here all 5 specimens were used for turning screws at medium and high torque at different angles.

Result:

In both tests (blind and usage) Ergonic was voted twice as often as the runner-up to be the best screwdriver in the field. The results are almost identical for the blind test and the usage test. No significant difference could be measured between the answers of professionals and DiY-users.

Felo Ergonic is in the lead by a large margin.

»Which handle fits best into your hand?«

In a blind test most users judged  Ergonic to be the best handle! Ergonic was placed on top twice as often as the runner-up.

»Which screwdriver is best suited to work with?«

All screwdrivers were used for work at medium and high torque in different work angles. The result of the blind test was impressively confirmed in the usage test: Ergonic is in the lead by a wide margin!

The box in front of you contains 5 screwdrivers. Please take each of them into your hands to find out which one is most agreeable to the touch (your haptic perception). Please place the screwdriver with the best haptics far left and the rest of the specimens in descending order right of the top-runner (2nd choice, 3rd choice etc).
